Welcome to Pantry. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our mobile application and services. By using the app, you agree to these Terms.
Please read these Terms carefully. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using Pantry, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. We may modify these Terms at any time; continued use constitutes acceptance.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old. By using the app, you represent that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms and that all information you provide is accurate.
3. Account Registration
You can sign in via Apple, Google, or email. You are responsible for:
- Keeping your credentials confidential.
- All activity under your account.
- Notifying us of unauthorized access.
You may delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Services
Free Features
- Manual pantry item entry and barcode scanning.
- Expiration reminders and item tracking.
- Receipt scanning for automatic item entry.
- Basic nutrition information.
Premium Features (Pantry Pro)
- AI recipe suggestions and ingredient substitutions.
- Advanced nutrition tracking and detailed analytics.
- Grocery purchasing via Instacart integration.
5. Subscriptions and Payments
- Premium features require a Pantry Pro subscription.
- Subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store via your Apple ID.
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple ID account settings (Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions).
- Refunds are handled by Apple per their refund policy.
- No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods.
- Prices may change with notice. Existing subscribers will be notified before renewal at a new price.
6. Nutrition Data Disclaimer
- Nutrition information is provided for informational purposes only.
- Data is sourced from USDA FoodData Central, third-party databases, and AI estimates.
- Nutrition values may not be 100% accurate for all products.
- Pantry is not a substitute for professional dietary or medical advice.
- Do not rely solely on this app for dietary decisions, especially if you have allergies, intolerances, or medical conditions.
7. AI-Generated Content
Pantry uses artificial intelligence for receipt parsing, product matching, nutrition estimation, and recipe suggestions. You acknowledge that:
- AI-generated content (including nutrition estimates, recipe suggestions, and product matches) may contain errors or inaccuracies.
- AI-estimated nutrition data is labeled as such and should be independently verified before relying on it.
- You are responsible for reviewing and verifying AI-generated information.
- AI processing of receipt images requires your explicit consent.
8. Food Safety Disclaimer
- Expiration dates are estimates for informational purposes only.
- Always use your own judgment regarding food safety.
- We are not responsible for foodborne illness.
- Actual shelf life may vary based on storage conditions, temperature, and handling.
9. User Content and Conduct
You retain ownership of your content. By uploading, you grant us a limited license to store and process it for service delivery.
You agree not to:
- Violate applicable laws or regulations.
- Upload malicious code or attempt unauthorized access.
- Reverse engineer or decompile the app.
- Create multiple accounts to abuse features or trials.
- Submit false or misleading information.
10. Intellectual Property
Pantry, its logo, design, and content are owned by Pantry and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the app without prior written permission.
11. Third-Party Content
Product data provided in part by Open Food Facts (openfoodfacts.org) under the Open Database License (ODbL).
12. Limitation of Liability
The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the app, including but not limited to inaccurate nutrition information, incorrect expiration estimates, foodborne illness, allergic reactions, or data loss. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the past 12 months, or $100, whichever is greater.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time through the app Settings. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
14. Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois. Disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration. You agree to resolve disputes individually and waive class action participation.
15. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
